Julia Kim - Hairstylist
I am resilient
Because my daily yoga practice gives me confidence to face life’s hurdles.
My Story
I’ve discovered that black liquid eyeliner and mascara can turn your whole day (if not your whole outlook) around. I think that your eyes can smile as bright as your lips can, so I try and make a statement with both. When I’m stressed, a long, hot bath does wonders. I love feeling connected to the water and how tranquil a mindset it puts me in—and I get the same sense of serenity from my yoga practice. It became such a passion that I traveled to India and immersed myself in a rigorous program that was one of the most challenging, yet rewarding things I have ever done. I am not perfect (then again, who is?) and I never feel the need to defend myself and my actions. I accept me for all that I am.
Step 1: Moisturizer

Begin with Hydrating Eye Cream and Hydrating Face Cream to infuse skin with an immediate burst of freshness while also ensuring your concealer and foundation apply smoothly.

Step 2: Corrector & Concealer

Using a Concealer Brush, brighten under eye darkness and neutralize any discoloration with Bisque Corrector for a wide-awake look; gently pat it with your fingers to blend it into skin.

Follow with Natural Creamy Concealer; apply it as close to the lashline as possible, focusing on the innermost corner of the eye; blend again with fingertips.

Bobbi Tip: “When glasses are your main accessory, make sure the under eye area is bright and skin looks fresh.”

Step 3: Foundation

Use a makeup sponge to spot-apply Natural Oil-Free Even Finish Compact Foundation on uneven areas of skin or where there is redness (usually around the nose and mouth).

Step 4: Powder

Ensure the staying power of your concealer and foundation with a light dusting of Pale Yellow Sheer Finish Pressed Powder.

Use an Eye Blender Brush or Mini Powder Puff to apply powder to the under eye area, and a Powder Brush to apply powder to the rest of the face.

Step 5: Bronzer & Blush

Add a warm, healthy tint to your cheeks, forehead, nose, chin and neck with Golden Light Bronzing Powder using the Bronzer Brush.

A pop of Peony Blush can brighten up your entire face: just blend it up toward the hairline, then down to soften any edges.

Step 6: Lipstick & Liner

Julia has naturally luscious lips that were emphasized with Beige Lip Color and a quick swipe of similarly-toned Beige Lip Gloss.

Step 7: Brows

Bobbi went with minimalist makeup to suit Julia’s casual lifestyle, so she started by filling in her brows with Slate Eye Shadow using an Eye Definer Brush.

Step 8: Eye Shadow

To keep eyes neutral, Bobbi swept Bone Eye Shadow over Julia’s entire lid using an Eye Shader Brush.

Step 9: Eye Liner

Bobbi traced Julia’s lashline lightly with Caviar Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner and an Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush.

Step 10: Mascara

To bring out Julia’s greatest lash potential, Bobbi finished with two coats of Black Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara.

Step 6: Lipstick & Liner

Cosmic Raspberry Rich Lip Color SPF 12 is a vivid pink shade that has a fun and flirty appeal.
